Many questions have been answered scientifically and in so many other ways. Theories have been proved, cases has been closed, but the answer to this question “who is God” is an inexhaustible one. I was baffled, so I decided to conduct a little research of mine to answer this mystery question.

I started my research from the closest means to me- Encarta dictionary which said and I quote

“A God is the being believed in monotheistic religions, such as Judaism, Islam, and Christianity to be the all-powerful all-knowing creator of the universe, worshiped as the only god. “

Wow! This definition only brought me to wonder some more. Why is the God of Christianity starting with a capital “G” and every other with a small letter “g”? Is it because the God of the Christians is more supreme than any other God? After all he is referred to as the king of all kings, Lord of all lords? Who can dispute that?

Next I went to research on what great scientists thought about who God is?

“”Max Planck, a German Physicist who founded Quantum Theory was a Believer in God and he said “Religion is the link that binds man to God” note that we are studying the God with a capital “G”. From max Planck’s view, man and God are connected and thus man is only complete with the God figure. True!

We also had Carl Sagan, “The People’s Astronomer,” who made many interesting statements about God. He stated the idea that “God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard, who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous” wow! Such an interesting view Carl Sagan had.

I conducted more research and discovered most of the world’s propounded scientist like   Francis Crick, James Watson, Albert Einstein and so many others, didn’t believe in God. However, Stephen Hawking, the most famed physicist alive today, once wrote that “the actual point of creation lies outside the scope of presently known laws of physics…”

I was puzzled by his statement, especially as Stephen grew up in an atheist household. But his view proved something very important, which was the fact that despite the great findings of scientist, there was a limit to their knowledge, findings and explanations. There was something bigger than them that they couldn’t find an appropriate explanation for, something that had to be ascribed to God.

Hmmm! This is getting interesting.

In my research, I stumbled on an article by Rich deem, it was so accurate I had to take a part of his article. He said:

“According to Christianity, God is the self-existent One, having no need of being created, since He has existed forever and is the cause of all things, including the dimension of time, to which He is not subject, Likewise, God is not subject to the physical creation, but is spiritual in nature, residing in the spiritual dimensions of heaven. God’s power over the physical creation is absolute, such that He can manipulate matter, energy, space, and time at will. For this reason, God is said to be all powerful—able to accomplish any possible task He wills to do. Along with being all powerful, God is also all knowing—having knowledge of all things that are possible to be known, including the entire history of the universe—past, present, and future. Because God is all powerful (omnipotent) and all knowing (omniscient), He is also able to be present at all places at all times (omnipresent). God is also all loving—according to the Bible, “God is love” (1 John 4:16).The love of God prompted Him to create human beings in His image, in order to share His love with us. The scriptures say that we can fulfill the entire law of God by loving Him and loving our fellow human beings (Matthew 22:37-40). God is absolutely holy—without any moral or character defect. In fact, the Bible says that God is incapable of doing any evil, despite being all powerful. God is unchangeable. In other words, He does not change any of His attributes or character at any time. Despite humanity’s tendency to change its definition of morality, God’s moral character does not evolve with the times, but remains constant.”

Now, who is God to me? He is incomparable; he is powerful and majestic in all he does. He is the true definition of royalty because he is the king of all kings and Lord of all Lords. He is the alpha and omega (the beginning and the end). You know he created everything in this world but he was never created. He is the word; he is wisdom-(john 1:1).  He is the all forgiving God, he is merciful, and he is love (1corinthians13:13, John3:16). He is the greatest physician, doctor and nurse-(mattew20:21-34, mark1:29-34), the only one who commands attention, even the wind, earth, storm all obey him (mark4:35-39). He is the greatest scientist who turned water into wine (John2:1-11), the God who fed over 4000people with 7loaves of bread and few fishes. He is the hope of the world, the giver of salvation. THAT’S MY GOD, THAT’S MY KING…

Who is God to you??
